This thread is referring to the 2000-2002 '4x4 OFF ROAD' decals, and the 2000-2004 '4x4' decals. I replaced the 'FX4' decals that came on my truck to the MY correct '4x4 OFF ROAD' decals. I ordered them from Ford and they came on a template to line everything up. Now, I have noticed that other 00-02 trucks I see have the decals higher than mine, almost on the body line. I lined everything up to the template, but mine is about 5/8" from the body line to the top of the '4' in '4x4'. Other trucks are about 3/16" from the body line to the top of the '4' in 4x4'. I know I am arguing over fractions of an inch, but it seems strange. Which is correct as installed at the factory?

Not sure of the answer because those decals were the first thing to go when I got my truck.
I wonder if the variation can be sorted by the assembly plant? I don't know how many different plants there were but it seems reasonable that different places could apply the decal differently.
Mine are 5/8" from the top edge of the clear decal portion of the '4' in '4x4'.

Are there different 4x4 decals for 2000's? I don't have 4x4 decals on mine and I assume it's due to the truck being painted. How do I know it I have an "off road" version?
