I am due for a coolant change. I had a small leak that seems to have sealed with bars stop leak. So now I want to get that junk outta the system and fill with fresh coolant. Have you guys used the Rotella ELC that is already pre mixed 50/50? I dont want to deal with testing the ph etc. I did have the gold in it from the dealership, but i am planning on doing this myself. thanks Jeff
You're going to find that most of us on this forum are of the mindset of, "Do it right, or don't do it at all".
Find the leak. Don't cut any corners, and do a proper fix before anything else. The cooling system is just TOO important to be finding "the cheap way".
And, before you go too far, don't buy the 50/50 stuff. Get it full-strength. There's a reason, and you'll find out why after fixing the leak and doing a few flushes with DISTILLED water.
...with bars stop leak. So now I want to get that junk outta the system...
Jeff, not trying to beat ya over the head brother, but if you have the same opinion as most of us regarding the bars stop leak (IE, that it's junk and shouldn't be in the system) then why did you use it to begin with?
