someone please help me

i got a sloppy shifting aod tranny in my 91 f150, can i tighten up the shifts without buying a kit or sending it to a tranny shop?

Check your fluid, and the only way to tighten up the shifts is to buy a shift kit, and if you take it to a tranny shop, they buy the shift kit and install it for you

Line pressure, and therefore shift stiffness is controlled by the throttle valve linkage on the AOD. Make sure this is adjusted properly - if its on the low side, youi could be slipping in gear, which will burn up your tranny pronto.
