I dont understand the fascination with this gun. Its literally right next to me on the desk and its not that special in my personal opinion.
Fascination with a PPK/s??????
If you get your hands on an older PPK/s, it just 'sits' in your hands so nicely.
Now. . . I say 'older' PPK/s.
There are some Walther PPK/s that are less desirable than others.
I'm not a fan of the 'new' S&W licensed Walthers. None of 'em!
Some of the latter versions of the "Interarms" Walther had some issues, too.
Personally, I think the PPK/s is just downright sexy looking.
Clean lines. Nicely sized.
Kinda like a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 or an AC Cobra. The lines are 'perfection'.
The Walther PPK series is a masterpiece, right up there with the 1911, Browning Hi-power (P-35), the Luger P-08.........timeless and elegant.
They fit your hand and point like they were a part of you, smooth, no-snag contours, thin, but rugged, old world craftsmanship that makes today's plastic pistols (some of which I do like.) pale in comparison, Silky smooth trigger and action, deadly reliable and surprisingly accurate.
Not much bad can be said of the weapon of James Bond, and the pistol that rid the world of Adolf Hitler.
I have CCWs in two states and carry most of the time. I carry a LCP in a pocket holster in my front pocket most of the time. I have been known to carry my XDM 9, but found it to be too big a package. This also the same problem with my 1911s and a 92F. I also have S&W Body Guard and a Chater Arms both 38s. The 380 auto will do the job if required to be used. I made the mistake of loading some 380s in the mag for my 92F 9mm. They look almost the same. They fired well but did not eject well. I figured it was a problem of some gun just don't like some ammo. My son figured out the problem a few days latter. A 380 will hurt as much as a 9mm.
I have a Russian made Makarov IJ70-17A too. Bought it several years ago when they first came out in .380. 9 x 18 were hard to get back then. Now it's just as cheap, if not cheaper than .380. Mine came with the Pierce grips and adjustable sights. Very accurate and rugged.
Out here, .380, 9mm, .40, .44 mag and .45 are the most popular handgun ammunition. SASS is popular enough for .45 LC ammunition to be available though.
