running cold and hard on fuel

I have a 96 f350 club cab 4x4 with 7.3 , the temp dont come up very far and since colder weather started its hard on fuel , the heater seems to put out decent heat but not great could my thermostat be stuck open???do any of you guys use a winterfront to help warm your trucks up??

Sounds like the T-stat is stick open.

How far is the needle rising on the temp gauge? I know the gauges are not very precise, but it should at least raise about the initial bar for normal in the cold months after it gets warmed up.

A weather front will help with faster warm up times.

the needle in the gauge is barely getting to the normal line , it use to get up to about the r in normal

Sounds like a stuck T-stat to me. You might consider getting a 203* thermostat from Dieselsite or somewhere similar (your local International Dealer if you can find one). Up where you're at if you're seeing a lot of cold weather that t-stat will make a big difference and you won't have a hard time keeping it cool in the summer months.
