Summit sells these kit's to measure your combustion chamber volume. The Comp Cams Pro Head CC Kit works great and I'm sure the cheaper ones work just as good.

i know of that method of actuly measuring your chamber volume with plexi glass and transmission fluid, i was wonder if there was a way to decipher it from the codes that are cast all over the head and block

head
look on the head for a _ _ _ _-_ _ _ code that will help identify the heads you have. Also the block with have the same amount of characters just above the starter pad on the passenger side. Once you have that then you can type it into any internet search engine and come back with a few hundred links.
