EEC-IV ?
EEC-IV ?
Hello all. I know someone who recently closed shop and he had some known good ford truck computers laying around. I shuffled through them and actually found one with the same strategy code as my '93, "Z2D1". Yay me, i scored a back-up! Or did i?
Would that be it, is that the only code that matters when it comes to swapping/replacing these things? There are three lines of text/numbers on the eec, the top two match up with my original eec but the bottom row doesn't.

Yeah that's it you have a backup, the box code is the main identifyer of what it's programmed to operate, the other numbers are date codes and associated manufacturing data. Incidentally there are other box codes that would also work in your truck.. basically anything that is made for your particular engine/transmission combo, but you would need a cross reference list to sort these out.
