First I want to say hi! I am new to diesel trucks. I just bought a '93 idi and it runs great but I have had it for about 3 weeks and it has developed a leak out of the fitting were the fuel line screws on to the injector front drivers side. I thought it may be a bad injector but replaced that and still shooting fuel out of the top of the fitting. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!
Sounds as if the fuel line might have cracked. Are the clamps that hold the fuel lines together still on? If not the line probably vibrated and developed a crack. If this is the case a new line for that cyclinder is the cure. The fuel line clamps need to be on the lines or another line will crack.
You tried to loosen it up and reseat the fitting? It could be a cracked line, but rule out the easy stuff first. Make sure the fitting is not cross threaded so it puts even pressure on the sealing surface taper.
It started to leak for no reason so I changed the injector thinking it may be plugged because the Guy I bought the truck from was running waste oil. Could it just be the compression fitting gone bad?
