I know Blackstone and Oil Analyzers are both popular labs I was just wonder if there were any more economical alternatives to these labs? TIA!
The thing to look for with these guys is state certification....all labs in all states to be "credentialed" must be certified by the state..typically the State Fire Marshal's Office.
A few years ago, several of the "well known" UOA labs were sent products for analysis....a complete analysis was done on the product prior to being sent and guess what....there wasn't a single onethat came back even close to matching what a state Certified & ISO certified analysis was 9and it was run 3 times to ensure consistancy.
So, IMHO, i put little to no faith in any of these "reports" unless the facility if a "certfied lab"
Blackstone lost me a long time ago! To many variables, I even caught them by sending the same batch of oil to them in 2 samples and the reports where no where near close!
I like dyson, Cat and even NAPA offers good tests through Wix.

That's pretty lame. I've always had good results with Blackstone, but I don't test frequently enough to see differences in the reports.
What claims? You want a plethora of bad Blackstone reports? Head Over to Bobistheoilguy.com and see 1000s of weird reports from them.
Over on fordfe.com recently someone sent in a diesel oil sample and it came back looking like a gas 10w30.

*Yawns*
Like I said... I didn't make any claims. Make a claim...back it up...that's all I'm saying. NOT defending them. I have considered trying other labs, as well.

As for bobistheoilguy.com it would be beneficial for you take take YOUR own time and do your OWN research into how poorly Blackstone labs is handling reports these days.
The most important thing about Blackstone labs is they ARE NOT an accredited testing facility. And besides the fact their "unit averages" and comments section is borderline childish.

Instead of sitting around *yawning* and asking for the info to just be given to you, take the time to actually look the stuff up yourself.

Now I find this hilarious, you call me a troll, when all I say is that if you are going to make a claim, to post evidence.
Seems some D-bag named JOSH agrees with me in that first link you posted:
It's ridiculous the "first hand" knowledge that gets floated around, when it is really "I heard from a guy, who heard from so and so, that somebody said zinc has been completely removed from Rotella".
You didn't prove anything. The OP of that post received a bogus report from Blackstone.
There are tons of bogus reports on Bobistheoilguy
Brad Penn oil doesn't like Blackstone.
You're arguments make me...
Josh
PS Tebow is going to own Brady/Belchick and Mc*******
Your right...Brad Penn oil says they suck... I'll never use them again.
Quickly...who the heck is Brad Penn oil? Gee, never heard of them before.
You say the OP got a bogus report? Funny... I read his post and it seems he's looking for other, economical options. Didn't really see a reason posted.
(By economical, he means cheaper, by the way.)
In the end, my point, (and I'm repeating it to get through your thick skull) was if you claim to have received bad reports, to post them. If you claim to have good reports, post them. If you are going to make any claims at all, post them.
I really hope you get it now, because I'm not breaking out the crayons and glitter to make you a pretty picture so you understand it.
