A small turbo leak will cause issues just like you have usually idels ok but falls flat on its face if you try to move it most of the time you can hear it leak sounds diff than normal
How sure are you that you got all the old copper washers out. I doubt this is a exhaust leak. If so it would have to be completely plugged. I would put money on a bad injector oring or a old copper washer left in. The 03's don't have HPO leaks like the other years (another benifit).
i popped ALL the copper washers off the injectors myself and replace them with new ones
i'm with you i dont see an exhaust leak doing this....
as far as codes...this thing jumps everywhere
threw and iat then went away
as well as cylinder 1 and 4 and now 5 contribution fault
cept the cyl. 5 stayed and the other 2 were at different times and not at the same time...those 2 went away
then a brake switch
then crank shaft then cam shaft
those are not present now...
check engine light never came on either
something i am missing here....
ICP is right in the good range but need the IPR% to see if its trying to make up for a leak
640 icp and 22-23% IPR would be good rande at hot idel
with it bouncing around so much on diffrent codes go over the wire harness really good unplug and check things out look for bent pins maKE SHure harnesses are all fulley pluged in
FICM ground wire on intake bolt in the back is on
I'm betting your #5 injector has alot to do with it. Replace the injector and torque hold down to 26ft lbs. I wouldn't run it in this state. I'm thinking the cam and crank are from a stall type event. I wouldn't bother with those codes.
On the '03 and early '04 it takes quite a bit to get the CEL to come on. It was after my truck died that the ICP caused the CEL to come on. When I cracked the tip this summer (2011), or lost three last summer (2010) the CEL never came on...even though there were codes showing when I pulled them.

I think Benny is on the right path, a bad connection will raise all kinds of havoc with these motors. Just because the truck keeps throwing #5 doesn't mean that stick is bad. The back connection could be in the pigtail that sticks through the rocker box.
More than likely it's something not reconnected completely, once you find it...everything will smooth out.
we relearned the turbo and i took it out for a drive...no power hardly at all....it then started to get better...
noticed that there was no speedo...found that the abs wasnt plugged in correctly.....
reinstalled my tuning (superchips 1704-a) on high performance
took it back out and romped it some more
after some rippin with it it finally started to pick up
all this time we had the snap-on verus hooked up monitoring it......
let me tell you this truck has *****....on a mild tune on a stock motor
you ready for this?
994 ft/lbs of torque!!!!!
thats amazing....and i did it like 6 times in a row! everytime maxed out the verus...
so i conclude that it was just air in the fuel lines..that and i added another $70 in fuel to it
i just recently had same issues... had the FICM replaced and took it home... drove well for a few days then bad idle, felt like it was running on 4 cylinders and no power! i thought icp... it turned out to be the small wiring harness under the ficm was shorting out... throwing all kinds of codes and no check engine light... starts fine even after sitting for two days without being plugged in and all kind of power back. just my .02 cents!

Hopefully that was the problem all along, air in the fuel/oil lines. I'm not familiar with the Snap-On Verus...but if everything works...who cares at this point?
