Question Seat swap

First off, let me say sorry if this is one of those stupid questions where the answer has already been posted a dozen times. I looked for it and couldn't find it. My question is this, I have been looking for used front and back seats for my 90 F-250 and was wondering what I could swap across. I found a Bronco that was being parted out and it got me wondering what other vehicles or years would fit.
Thanks in advance for your time and expertise.

depending on how you are currently set up... any full size ford from 80-96/97 should match. IE front captains for front captains and benchs for benches. f100-f450 and bronco

i know others that have swaped front benches to to captains and center console with minimum effort. Some have even gone so far as to pull seats from newer trucks and weld newer style seats to the old seat rail/frames and bolt them back in...

my old 85 f150 i took a set for front buckets out of a 90ish explorer. unbolted the rails from my factory seats and they bolted directly to the explorer seats and still lined up with the holes in the floor. so i would think that any ranger, explorer, f-series front buckets of the same generation should bolt to your seat rails.

I was wondering about the rear seat. I don't know why they did those in vinyl. Maybe I'll just have it recovered.

probably because only kids can fit back there anyway and what do they care? plus it's easier to clean up after 'em when it's vinyl.
if some unfortunate adult needs to ride back there, the last thing on his/her mind is the material of the seat, but rather leg cramps.
so i don't know why they would ever have put velour back there.

I swapped a bench seat with a folding center arm rest out of a 93 into my 87 with no problems at all. Hardest part was cleaning out the trucks to get to the bolts, lol and on the plus side, this seat has lumbar support, too bad my truck isnt equipped with the wiring for that option..

Thanks again, Now here comes the searching, which is the fun part. I would really like to get the fabric ones for the rear, although someone here did make a good point, my kids can destroy anything. With the year description I got here, I think I'm on the right path.

My 95 f150 xlt gas the cloth rear seat but since it's really useless to me as a seat I keep it folded flat and have my sub box sitting on it then there's room for groceries and what not there aswell

Just to clarify the above statement, I presume this is only true if you already have bucket seats of some sort, yes? This is probably obvious, but I can't see any way that you're going to use the bracket/rails from a bench seat to mount a bucket seat.

Assuming I want bucket seats in place of my bench, here's what I'm thinking my "junkyard strategy" should be.... Grab the seats, complete with mounting brackets/rails, from a bucket-seat equipped '87 - '96 Bronco or F150. Don't worry about seat condition too much - I'm going in assuming I won't find seats in good shape, it's really the rails I'm looking to harvest.

Remove seats from rails - toss seats. At that point, I've then got a much bigger array of seats I can use, such as the Explorer/Ranger ones mentioned above. I've also read that Aerostar and Windstar seats bolt on to these rails.

Yes, this is more involved and involves a couple trips to the junkyard, but given that seats are cheap (my favorite junkyard sells them for $10), it's probably the best way to open up a lot of options.

Thoughts???

Exactly. I had buckets to start with.
I had a 77 gm that I used the frame from a bench seat and build a square frame and welded to the brackets to bolt a set of buckets to
