I am new to the forem so if this has already been discussed, I apologize. I have a 1974 F-250 4x4 that is almost finished with it's body off restor. And new interior. I am planning for this truck to be my daily driver and I need it to be as smooth as possible. The only problem is that I still need all the hauling capacity that I can get. So what is the best spring/shock combo that you all suggest.
Smooth ride and hauling capacity just ain't gonna happen in these old trucks. They're trucks. You might pull some leaves from the spring packs and go with air bags.
BTW, welcome to the forum. Sorry I was so terse. Maybe someone else will have ideas. Stick around.
I understand, but I thought it was worth asking. I have considered removing leaves then putting a 5k load lever airbag on, but I was told that the leaves would break when I put a load on. I would love to go total Air ride, but I would have to find a way to hold the axle in place.
