oops the GVWR difference point is over or under 8500 lbs my bad when i said 8600.danr1's comment reminded me of this...but wasn't 8800 the max? (that's getting kind tedious anyway.)
so if your trucks door jam sticker reads 8500 or more, then you have the f250HD/F350 platform.
D50 front (instead of the D60 front of the F350) w/shorter rear spring blocks (which doesn't effect load rating, just height difference to match the front axle in 4wd models) was the only difference between the F250HD and f350's.
all f350's did come with 1 aux spring unlike the F250HD's too, though one could be ordered with it,or easily added as well.
frame, axles, brake system etc.etc. all the same.
the difference between a 2wd f250HD and the 2wd F350 trucks.....nothing that i know of lol.
with a GVWR of 8600 lbs, there is no question or doubt about it,you have a F250HD.

a computer is only as accurate as the info given it.
your computers database is inaccurate.
with a decent "truck eye" lol,you can look at a F250 LD truck and see it pretty clearly as a "f150 heavy half" if you will, type truck.
Ok thank you all for clearing that up for me I was wondering y I had to buy some hd parts if the trucks a ld but now I know it's not thanks
Yep any time you buy parts for it say "over 8500# gvwr", you'll get the correct parts if you do. The parts guy should ask you that but often do not (depending on where you go that is).
Right ya I pulled the rotors cause one was cracked and replaced them and the ones at the part store were incorrect idk if they just didn't ask but I went up to f350 brakes and they worked good
ok now see i called the dealer ship and they said the truck was a light duty off the vin also i have to call him back with my emmisions numbers or something. But he also said the 8600 gvwr was for the hd to....... And then he got confused lol, yes my truck confused the guy at the dealership.
