New Carb?.?.
So should i go back with a 2 barrel or 4? I have an edelbrock 3 inch air filter on top of it. If I do go with a 2 barrel...should I go back with motorcraft or get an edelbrock?
I have never done anything with carbs so my knowledge is very minimal.
Money is also an issue. I can spend some but would like to stay conservative about it.
A 4-barrel is actually more fuel efficient than a 2-barrel, because they typically have smaller primaries, which you can drive on most of the time if you keep your foot out of it. But if cost is an issue, then it makes no sense to make an unnecessary performance upgrade just to fix a very simple problem.

How to rebuild a Motorcraft 2150:

Read both of those, print out the second for reference, get a rebuild kit and a gallon of carb cleaner, and your set.
A rebuid kit is about $25, a gallon of Chem-tool is another $20 or so. Set up a clear/clean work area, read instructions to familiarize yourself with the steps, take pics as you go for reference, and next thing you know it's done. Call it an investment towards expanding your breadth of knowledge.
