Hi, I have a 1990 Ford Bronco. It has the 8.8 rear end. Today I began to change the gear oil in the rear end. The problem I'm having is I completely stripped the fill plug for the Diff. Is there another way to fill the diff. with fluid?? What do I do from here. I need an answer quick as this is my only truck! Thanks a Bunch guys!

When you say you stripped it, you mean the threads? or that you can't get the plug out.
Hi, is any of the plug above the differential?
If there is even a couple of threads, or even an 1/8 inch. You might be able to get something like a Vise-Grip on it. If so, get a propane torch, clean the plug area first. Heat the plug, then immediately put ice on it. The idea is to break the threads free by heating and cooling.
If none of the plug is showing, you will need to get a "easy out" square driver. Basically, it is a hardened steel square thing, that you will need to tap into the plug where you are rounded out.
then you back it out with a socket or wrench. they are found in most tool stores.
Now if you are talking about the plug in the differential cover, not the one on the axle, you can do the same thing. or just take the cover off and replace it.

No, the problem is not the diff cover, it's the fill plug. I wanted to fill it through the speed sensor, but I can't figure out how to take it off!! Can you please explain to me how that comes out!!!
THANKS A BUNCH!!!!
Ok, I did remove the bolt and I disconnected the wire. I pulled on the sensor pretty hard but it doesn't budge!! What am I doing wrong. Do you have to pry it off with a scredriver?? Please Help. Thanks a Bunch!
You could always just pull an axle out, lower it to drain the oil (or just crck the rer diff cover so the oil comes out) , then raise the axle tube and fill it with the correct amount of oil.
Thats the quickest way I do the 9inch (doesn't have a rear cover though, this would make it easier).
