PCM and ESOF??

PCM and ESOF??
Does the PCM have anything to do with the ESOF??
I have posts in a couple other threads but can't track down my issue.
The short jist of my problem is my ESOF dash switch works and my transfer case motor works when I put them in another truck but they will not do their respective jobs when they are in my truck.
I just noticed tonight while doing some more trouble shooting is that now my AeroForce Scan Gauge will not work either when I try to use it to get DTC's from it. The scan gauge says "unable to complete" but I know it worked a month ago.
I have no idea if any of this even makes any sense but I am just trying to rule everything out so as to get my issues fixed.
