Sputtering,missing and running rough while accelrating
I am having a problem with the 86' in my sig. I will preface that the truck sits alot. a few months ago I noticed that when accelerating the truck was sputtering and missing and occasionally it was backfireing through the intake. At first it would get better when warm but now it never stops. I cleaned the throttle body and changed the cap and rotor. It is the EFI 5.0. It seems slightly better now but still not running right. Anyone have any ideas on where to check first. I checked to make sure all the boots were tight on the plugs and no damage to the wires that I can see. Thanks, Dan

Shouldn't there be a check engine light on then or does it even have one?? I guess I could take it up and let them plug it in at advance and see?? Maybe the bulb is burned out it is so old. Lol.

First year for a CEL connected to a computer was 1988.
These use OBD 1 computers, the connectors are under the hood.
