Hello all, I have an '05 F-350 6.0L 4x4 crewcab. The truck has about 180k miles on it. Two days ago I was pulling up to a stop sign and the brake pedal went clear to the floor. I "jabbed" at the brake pedal and the brakes locked up. Since then, the problem got worse. Now, if the engine is off, I have no pedal at all, it goes right to the floor without resistance. If the truck is running and I stomp on the pedal, it's like there is nothing wrong. I've got a full pedal and the brakes lock up. If you push on the pedal slowly, it goes to the floor and there are no brakes at all.
I've tried bleeding them multiple times. I've searched and searched for leaks and can not find anything wrong. The local Ford dealer suggested a leak in the line along the frame rail (couldn't find anything leaking) or the hydro-booster is allowing brake fluid to "blow by" the piston. Anyone else experience this? I'm self employed and need my truck to work...so I have to get it back on the road ASAP! Any ideas?
