Odd signal stick problem...

Odd signal stick problem...
So here's a weird one...
Typically when you put your turn signal on and make your turn, the stick resets automatically. Well when mine resets, it also bumps the high beams momentarily. I've noticed that it's actually the "flash-to-pass" -- pulling the stick in. It's kind of annoying because people think I'm flashing them when turning.
Has anybody else experienced this? Is it hard to replace the turn signal stick? I'm assuming it's a PITA.
