Well....after not doing anything for way too long, I'm pressing on with some progress on the 52....
The exhaust is in. I took the truck to King's Muffler in Morgan Hill. Mike can do this way better than I can....he's are artist with a tube bender. He didn't have any problems getting the tubes out of the shorty headers. I opted for glass-packs with a crossover tube & out the back with a little kick down at the back. We put the exit tubes just below where I think my bumper is going to be. Mike said to bring it back after it's done to see if we want to change it or add some chrome tips.
I opted for the glass packs because they just fit in better...I wanted to keep the hot parts away from my fuel lines, and away from the areas where I know that I'll have to install wiring and brake lines.
Brakes are next....hopefully this weekend. Two of my sons are coming home for Thanksgiving...they want to hear this 351w run!! Who knows...maybe we can move it around under its own power!!!

Reason: typo
Looks Great I like the way he ran the tail pipes. I see you are using shorty headers. How is your steering with the IFS,I saw your pic of the steering set up. It is off set to miss the headers. I have a jag IFS and was wondering about the shorty headers and if they will work.I am not that far along to fab some up but was interested in your set up. Any way your truck is really coming along. Great Job!!
I like to tips - I've been trying to figure out my pipes as I usually back into my driveway - In the winter I could be packing snow going thru the drifts.
Dan you are holding out on us! where are some Recent pics? I see green paint, wood bed! the only pic of your truck is the avatar! not fair!
Well....I have the bed done, but I have to sand it and repaint parts...my HVLP gun started to sputter at the worst possible moment. Ilya hooked me up with a guy in San Jose...I traded a bunch of my leftover F2 parts for body work on the cab...he shot the paint on the cab &*did my fenders while my stuff was in his paint booth.
The seat is done and in...I need to come up with some decent seat belts.
I did finish the fuel system...that has a marine type cartridge filter at the low point, and I used POR gas tank sealer on the tank (stock cab mounted gas tank).
I had to re-do parts of the steering since I had a little binding going on at one of the universal joints, but that's working smoothly now.
While it was at the muffler shop, Mike put on weld tabs for my flex brake lines & last night I mocked up the hanging pedal mount for the brake...I'm moving that over a little tonight & I'll start making up hard brake lines.
The big push is on to fire this thing up over Thanksgiving....If I have brakes & gas pedal, I should be able to make it move under its own power!!
Oh..and my front clip is almost ready to put together....I took the grill and all of the headlight buckets and headlight doors to a powder coat shop...they're satin black now. I have to cut the inner fenders and paint them before I assemble the clip.

Yeah....it's getting there!!!
How long have you been working on the truck? It seems to me that you haven't had it that long! But I can only base that on when you became a member here, which doesn't mean squat, I know.
Dan bought an F1 frame from me that really jump started his project. The frame already had a Fatman Fab MII front end installed, new springs with adjustable hangers and was partially boxed. I was saving it to put under my 51 Panel, but in the four years that I've had it, I never did anything to it.
