ICP Questions regarding code P2285

First, I have done a lot of research and I have found this site to be the most helpful. I have also researched the ICP issues I'm having but still have a couple of questions to eliminate some confusion.....

My truck:
F250 6.0L built July 2003

Two questions for a NewB.

First, the Ford dealer has 2 ICP part numbers (3C3Z-9F838EA OR 4C4Z-9F838-A.
My truck appears to be the "early ICP", engine built in July 2003, the truck is a 2004. Which part would I need?

Given that I'm getting this code from the ICP, it seems most of the time it is the sensor, what chance is it that I replace the sensor and actual pressure problems exist? Would this lead to an HPOP replacement?

Also, International has only one part number for the ICP sensor which is a bit confusing, is it compatible for both?

thanks for any help.

Brian

You must have an early build for the following info:

You have the right part# 03 ICP part #: 3C3Z-9F838-EA (late build #4C4Z-9F838-A, is located on the valve cover.)

How to change it:

2003 Ford F350 ICP sensor - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com

Wire harness #5C3Z-12224-A

Not sure about International's #

First of all, thanks for the replies and help. I changed the ICP from the top per some instructions/pics on this site. It was tough but doable. I'm not sure how anyone could ever reach the 3 bolts of the heat shield from under the truck as described in the "From Below" descriptions but more power to ya.

After re-starting, the truck is running well again. No codes. However, unless I am fully warmed up, the truck still hesitates/skips, seems like injectors. Even when fully warmed, if I go hard on the accelerator, it does not rev smoothly.

I've read enough on here to know there are fans and detractors of Rev X, but I'm going to give it a try. For $75 I ordered 2 bottles and a problem report off of E-Bay. Hopefully the report is worth the xtra 10 compared to other internet prices.

Any other suggestions? I'm sort of time restrained as I have a thousand mile round trip planned for over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanks again for the good info, I would not have attempted this fix on my own without all of the expert help here.

Shinola.

Are you still getting the p2285 code after the icp swap?
