I have a'90 F-350 7.3idi w/ Banks Sidewinder turbo.
It has developed a Huge fuel leak on top of the pan between my intake manifold and my block... I start the truck and the pan will fill up in about 40 sec. I can't figure out where its coming from?? any body see this before??
Your fuel return manifold is leaking. This is the system of rubber hoses running between each injector and ultimately back to the fuel tank. Fuel will pool in the block valley under the pan and run out the drain hole at the rear of the valley. They are fairly cheap and easy to replace, but replace ALL of them including the ones going to the fuel filter and injection pump unless they are fairly new and one has just fallen off. If one is rotten, the others won't be far behind.
curmudgeon, thats exactly what it was ....the return lines were new but I couldn't see the back corner because the glow plug relay was right over the top of it... I took it off and one of the plugs was missing.......yahooo and thanks
