f150 rear diff question

I was told that if you turn the axle one turn the yoke turns three and a half turns this means its a 3.55 is this true?

I was trying to buy a rear for my 95 its a dana 9 inch from a 79 f150 with stock gears but rebuilt and the guy didnt know for sure what gears are in it but claims it is a 3.50 from the tag

any answers help me thanks in advanced guys!!

If it's a limited slip differential, and everything is hanging free, your first statement is correct.

If it's an open differential, you need to hold one axle steady and turn the other axle twice, and the yoke should turn the ratio.

--No such thing as a "dana 9 inch".

--A 79 F150 would have a Ford 9 inch.

--Your '95 would NOT have a Ford 9 inch, and the '79 axle isn't going to bolt in.

--Your '95 probably has a Ford 8.8" integral carrier axle. That's what you should be looking for.

Perches, yoke and brakes the same?

Good enough if you want to go to a 9er. How big a tire? Considered a Dana 60?
