I'm in the marine trade business and you might just want to get some boat hauler quotes.
You might be surprised that it could be cheaper than fueling an inadequate truck hauling a full capacity load.
I often here about someone from R.I. that decides to tow there 28' sport fish boat to Florida and they have to stop and refuel before they are have way through Connecticut.

You might be right Charlie. I attempted something similar 3 weeks ago. F350 SRW, crew, Lariat, 6.8L V10 lifted 8" with 38s. The CFO was NOT happy when I mentioned trading in the Blue Ox. Guess who won? The Ox is still in the driveway.

Three bank accounts, guys ... makes life MUCH easier.
Hers, Mine, and Ours.
We contribute equaly and talk about what comes out of "ours". but if it comes out of "mine" or "hers", not much to be mad about for the other party.
This year, she bought herself 6 horse trailer, next year i'm gonna buy a pickup. she pays for hers, i'm gonna pay for mine .....
just sayin' ....

Oh we have it that way too, but not enough to float a truck payment monthly by myself. Plus even though she's in a new ride herself, she wasn't too keen on the 8" lift and 38"s. It would have been 14-16" higher than my stock height F150 and we do use my truck to go places quite a bit. Also, lots not even talk about the fuel costs with the V10...something I didn't mention to her

In 2010 the 5.4 was rated to pull over 10K but Ford refuses to rate the 5.0L to do it and it's a stronger engine.
So technically the truck will do it but it's not rated for or recommended that it be done with that equipment.

15 years into my 2nd marriage and it's been splendid exactly for the reasons stated above.
