I have a 92 F150 4x4 with a 5.0 and the single rear tank. I had a fuel leak and noticed the former owner had used rubber hoses that were a little big to repair a broken fuel line. I found a truck identical to mine except for it had a 6 cylinder and I bought the fuel lines for 10 bucks. The issue I have is that the fuel sending unit line connection for the fuel suppply is pointing forward toward the passenger door thus making is a little bit of a stretch for the supply line to connect to it. The line does make it but it seems to pull some or stretch a little. I just dont want to break another line so I was wondering if the factory lines could be bent with a tubing bender to releive the stress without splitting the line or does it sound like the sending unit (which has worked fine) could maybe be not for this truck or the output line of the sending unit twisted and require me to get a new one? Thanks
I used a sending unit out of a 90' F-250 in my 96' F-150 (F250 was being scrapped but sending unit was just a couple months old) and had to bend the hard line on the sending unit to make it all work out. No splitting or kinking issues, though I only had to bend it 20* or so.
