What maintenance logging software do you recommend? I know that this is a question that might belong in the more general forum but I want to track things that are specific to diesels like engine hours. I got one for my iPhone but it doesn't have diesel as a fuel choice or let me add my own maintenance schedule (fuel filters). Any suggestions?
I use a small black binder that I keep in the console. Most of it is receipts and the main part is just a running log sorta like a diary. I like computers But sometimes there's just no substitute for pencil and paper.
I track all of my vehicles maintenance on a Excel spreadsheet. This allows me to set-up custom maintenance intervals based on the requirements of individual vehicles and also provides plenty of room to add notes for later reference. I set-up multiple tabs which allows me to review different vehicle's history without having to access different spreadsheets. This has worked well for several years, different methods work for different people.
I have a small binder between my passenger seat and center console area, this way if I every take it to a shop and say it needs work on it I show them everything that's been done and they don't say anything after that. I also copy to excel to keep a copy.
