Hello ford People, I have a 2003 f350 7.3, it's been giving me some problems it will run fine and unexpectedly shut off it might cranck back or it mighty crank the next day. It is real unreliable right now. I have a scan tool and sometimes it will link up and sometimes it won't but in always will link if the check engin light is off. I did get to pull some codes. Hear they are, hope fully someone can tell me if one of them will make my truck act this way. Input turdine speed sensor a circuit, shift solenoid c, system voltage, icp failure / cct test.*
Thanks. Chris
Ok thanks guys. I really appreciate. I changed the cam shaft position sensor about 3 years ago could it be that again too and is there anyway to check them for sure. Thanks

It sure does sound like the same problem I know a lot people carry a spare in the glove box, thats how reliable the CPS is on the 7.3.
Where did you get the CPS? The parts house ones are known to be problematic, $25 Ford or International should help considerably they are very reliable.
What scantool are you using to pull codes? Can you view live data? When it dies does it do it like you turned off the key or does it stumble?
When it dies do you get a "Service Engine Soon" light?
You could possibly be having the fuel bowl heater trying to short out, which is on the same circuit as the PCM.
I got the part from ford. The scan tool is a cheeper one that does give live data. It seems to do it when ever it wants and it does shut off just like you would turn the key. Thanks
If you have your scan tool when it acts up see if you are getting a RPM signal on it? If you are when trying to start and it wont start I would look elsewhere.
Might check the "tin nut" on the back of the IPR to make sure it is in place fully? Just another thought.
Starting requirements are pretty simple for the 7.3's
+10.5V while cranking
Fuel
500psi of ICP pressure
RPM signal usually greater than 100RPM
One other thing even when the engine is warm I can tell when it isn't going to start by just turning the switch on because the wait to start light stays on along time and when it does that it won't start
