well, if i could find someone with a wiring harness for the 300 i6 i'd buy it up and just swap the harnesses. nobody wants to part with any 300 i6's right now in my area.
have you checked painless wiring or any other aftermarket suppliers?
let me be the first to say to with the 351.....from what i have read add a cam, headders and clean up the heads and youl put out just as much if not a bit more then the 5.4 modular will put out. and then give the hondas a run... or atleast sound damn mean in the process. dont let all the 300 guys bully you into keeping it lol.

Not bullying.....Just saying for a DD, its the simplest, easiest to maintain and get decent MPG...lol
Back in 1990 I ordered my F150, XLT Lariet, SB, SWB, 4x2 300/5sp w/handling package, 3.50 gears.....
The 302 with 5speed looked really good perf & mileage but was unavailable in Calif. The 351 had the same TQ as the 300, but a little more hp, not enough to justify the 5-8 mpg loss.
IMHO, rebuild the 300....mine would out accel the Chev 305's onto the freeway like they were nothing (which they actually were that...nothing) and as long as you avoided shifting them like a V8, shift sooner to take advantage of all that tq, she would run almost nose to nose with a chev 350 1500 series auto. With a load, I could out pull em anytime.
i checked the salvage yards around here. the only 300 i6 in there that has efi was totally hack wired, which is why i refuse to touch it. i have both v8's on hand, along with complete wiring, so i decided it would've been the most cost effective way of doing it. the 300 would need an overbore or cylinder sleeves along with the master rebuild and the wiring being the way it is, i'm giving up on saving the harness. i'll ride out the winter with it and come spring time, the 351 goes in with the zf5.
