HELP! My 1994 Ford Explorer Limited (4 wheel drive) is possessed. The factory installed alarm keeps going off. A clicking noise can be heard in the left rear quarter panel and in the dash under the steering wheel. Question #1 - is there an alarm system relay? #2 - Where is it!? #3 - Is that my problem? #4-If not (besides being possessed) what is the problem? My neighbors REALLY want me to get this fixed - AND FAST ! !
Hey I wish I was writting to help but unfortunately I'm having the same problem. I also have a 94 limited explorer and the Alarm seems to go off by it's self. it seems to only happen when it rains so I've been trying to track what's getting wet. So far no luck but I've only had the truck a month and just started having the problem the last couple of days. The thing that pisses me off the most is that my Haynes manual dosen't even mention the alarm at all. I think maybe it's not a factory installation. maybe a dealer added thing. If i figure it out i'll post my answer. or maybe i'll just drive it off a cliff. Any help anyone can offer would be great
I figured out what was wrong with our explorer. There is a pig-tail that hooks into the back of the driverside key hole that controls the alarm. I replaced that pig-tail and have had no other problems.
