interesting Exbpv question?

I just rebuilt it thinking it was the answer to an oil leak I had but was not so I know its all there and should be able to function normally. But, but back to my question, I've driven a 01 and a 99 7.3that would idle up after idling for a few minutes. My 02 doesn't do that, is that normal? We've had a few mornings its been 19 and 15 out and the ebpv still hasn't kicked in. It still warms up just fine, seems to anyway, good heat and goes moves fine. When we took everything apart is was all hooked up right and we hooked it up just like the instructions said.

Did you delete the air temp sensor in the air box? That controls idle up.

Yes, when I installed my 6637 kit. But, interestingly enough this truck did Not idle up with the stock system and the senser in place, but that was also before I rebuilt it.

I wonder if the EPB sensor and tube being clogged, have anything to do with it?

I would plug the sensor back into the harness and just tuck it away off to the side. The PCM does use this input to determine if the idle up, should take place.

Here is the information from my manual:
The IAT signal provides air temperature information to the PCM. The PCM uses the air temperature information to operate the Exhaust Back-Pressure (EBP) system and to determine the cold idle setpoint. During long idle periods at cold ambient temperatures, the setpoint will increase engine rpm.

Is the truck an auto or manual?

Air Intake Heater Delete and the Air Temp Sensor are two different things. The air intake sensor is a temperature sensor mounted in the OEM airbox.
