2006 F-150 5.4L 4x4 .. after researching forums i had everything ready to do a fluid exchange today. the return line on the trans is a bit hard to access so i decided to disconnect the return line at a junction block near the bell housing. thought it was a coupling used when the truck was manufactured. WRONG. when the engine started i sent an ATF shower across the engine, frame and plastic spill sheet. took me 2 hours to clean my mess.
undaunted i removed the 3 remaining lines from the block so i could get a good look. it seemed to have some sort of valve in it. i can't attach to the post so here is an external link to the pic: http://surferlink.net/images/gizmo.jpg
oh well .. just a day wasted. tomorrow i get to try again. i am posting this so that anyone who is researching fluid exchange does not get the same bright idea that i had !!
