THe only time I had an issue with Eye burning unburned hydrocarbons , was my IPR was on its way out ... Pull the covers & look at the wiring first ...

Raw fuel smell can be from a broken nozzle or nozzle spring as well ...

i saw you had posted that a while back when i did a search earlier. do you suggest a good way to check?

In my case it ended in a no start ....
Had to replace the IPR ...

Is the IDM sealed well? Any issues around the harness connection? Maybe it cooled down and the ground opened. Just some things to think about.
