harmonic balancer

is there a trick i should know about to get the harmonic balancer off? iv bent my step dads puller and rented on from advance and nothing budges it..soaked it down with PB blaster and still no movent..idk what else to do. thanks in advance

You took the bolt out right , the puller should pull it right off.....

i removed the big center bolt and still doesnt want to budge...had the puller cranked down to the point of were i couldnt turn it any more with a 2 foot breaker bar im 305 so im puttin some weight behind it and the balancer has yet to budge at all..

You need the "duck's foot" kind of puller (the AmPro model was very cheap and worked great), and of course... removing the big bolt before trying anything else. It's very unlikely because of the tight fit, but there could be some contaminant holding the balancer in place, strike it with a hammer a couple of times, it always help to loose things up a little before trying the puller.

Never! We all make mistakes from time to time. Only those who refuse to admit it themselves will be the judge and jury. As for me....I have a few skeletons in my closet on this forum.

I will take that back , the puller would never get tight that way , ya got us wondering here ....Lew

nope was turnin it the right way...aparrently there is a washer on the big bolt...that was left behind. so it was pushing and pulling on the balancer at the same time..ehh guess its a simple mistake...

yeah i know, just kinda one of those things were why didint i think of checkin after the first tool was bent..but like you said least its off now.
