Muffler options

I have a 2000, V-10 and want to change the muffler. What are you guys running? I was looking at the flowmaster super 40, but open to other options.

Thanks,

Trevor

That's amazing, most vehicles would be extremely loud.

The Ex is usually a federal emissions truck which among other things means it does not have the oxygen sensors behind the cat. So if it is removed you will fail a visual inspection but it wont set off the check engine light. I've got mine off at the moment since it clogged up, but the drone in the cabin is not good -neither is the smell.... However - my mileage improved by 1.4 on a recent highway trip. I've got to pass a visual in my area so a Magnaflow replacement is on the way to keep me out of trouble and avoid the fines associated with it. The cat is PN 49959 in case anyone is curious and found the best price on ebay with free shipping ($203).

What size of tail pipe are you running? Cause that sounds awesome.

The cat is now the muffler. What kind of inspection do they have up in the last frontier?

just a OBD2 plug in, no tail pipe sniffer for anything '96-newer. but we are doing away with all emissions inspections within the next year.

stock 3" pipe, just cut the muffler out and put a new section of pipe in and added a 4" tip.
