Does .060" lifter preload sound good to you guys? I am using the shortest pushrods available: 9.56". I know .030" is optimum. I've heard .020-.040 is acceptable. Do I need to get custom pushrods or will these ones be o.k.? The valve lash is within Ford specs, but it's on the edge.
Chissler, part of the reason why I like adjustable rockers, even on a hydralic cam, is that I can set the lifter preload were I want it. I like .000-.020 on a hydralic cam. Assuming you're stuck with normal rockers. and if you have the shortest normal pushrod, how did you end up with .060 ? Have your heads been milled ? block decked ? Do you have your oil dripshields on underneath your rockerstands ? DF
Yes, everything is installed correctly. block and heads have been milled. After paying for everything else, I cannot afford adjustables. Is .060 too tight?
