2wd with the hellwig

Anybody running one of these? I have one myself and was curious if it changed your ride?I totally understand the purpose behind one on these beasts on a 4wd. But with my lower gravity is it really needed? It seems to me when I make a left off of a side road onto a major highway and when you cross over the highway making a turn it seems as if it fights to keep the truck level and it rocks back and forth (side to side). Thanks if anyone can help.

I didn't notice a change in the ride, just feels more stuck down to the road. One caveat, I only had the truck a couple weeks before I put it on, so wasn't real familiar with how it drove without it.

Some have had issues with the bar shifting after install. Might want to verify it's still in the right spot. Here's the thread about that. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...sue-maybe.html

I will have to go check it out. I was curious is SOME sway might actually make it ride better. I thought about the spring swap but I am measuring about 2 inches from my bump stops so I am not sure if that is it

I can say for sure that it made the handling of the Ex much better. I haven't towed with it yet, though. Ride is about the same. Making turns helps it leveled.

I installed the Hellwig on my 2wd X and have towed with it. Its definitely worth the expense. Feels more glued to the road when cornering.

I was just curious, I have one on mine and did not know if it was really needed. I am tracking down the ride issue. I think I may have a leak in one of my shocks. Every now and then I can hear the compressor kick in on my Myride.

Joe,
I had my '05 2wd for 5 months before I installed the
hellwig on the rear. I agree with the rocking back & forth feeling on certain angled bumps/railroad tracks.
BUT, it makes the turns on the interstate on/off ramps
MUCH better to me. Before the hellwig, I felt like the
inside wheels where coming off the ground, now
I go around the turns faster than most cars w/o
any feeling of tipping over.

I would highly recommend the hellwig. The occasion
"downside" is just that - occasional.

I think I had mine on for about 6 months before my install and I did not and still don't use ramps that often so I can't compare
