4x4 indicator light
Ok ya'll have been very helpful to me while I have owned my F-250 SD 1999, I have a new one... Was pulling, foolishly in 4H, because it wouldn't go into 4L. Here's the problem large amount of tranny fluid spilled out onto the exhaust, small fire, no problem there, just on the exhaust.. Next morning had some problem shifting at first, the O/D light flashed for a bit, the started shifting fine and light went out, however the 4x4 light is on even though it is totally out of 4x4, so I took it to my regular mechanic because of the fluid leak and the light, they say the front pump in the tranny is out, I need to take it to a tranny shop and have it rebuilt, do ya'll have any suggestions or is this what needs to happen? It seems to shift fine and I drove it to and from the shop with no problems, maybe a little shimmy but that may have been there before. If I need a new tranny, would a junk yard one be ok cause I really think the tranny rebuild would be more then the truck is worth all together. 1999 F-250 SD V-10 186xxx miles tranny had been rebuilt before I bought it also.
