I have a 2005 F350 Lariat FX4 6.0L that I want to put a 2.5" leveling kit on. I have done a lot of research and it seems that there is conflicting info on what( if any) suspension or steering components need to be adjusted or relocated. I was interested in the Rancho coils that provide 2.5" of lift. I also measured my stock shocks and it seems they are the same size as the larger ones that are being recommended(23"). Any advice or guidance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Chris
I don't have a lift, but have done the same searches as you. And if it were me, I would go with the spring spacer kits. Maybe the 2" instead of 2-1/2". There just isn't that much difference. You will not need new shocks, but you might want to ditch those FX4 shocks anyway and upgrade. I just don't see the need to go with coil over shocks for only a 2" lift.
The optional component is an adjustable track bar. Your axle will shift slightly toward the passenger side. Mostly not a noticeable difference. But if it bothers you, the adjustable track bar takes care of that.

I'm doing similar research...I have a 2" leveling kit that came on my 2006 F250 when I bought it. I believe it's a "cheaper" style of leveling kit.. it has a spacer under the coil on the front, and stack a spacer block on the rear. It does not have an adjustable track bar. I'm planning on replacing the shocks and slipping in real F350 rear blocks and pulling the stacked blocks soon.
I'm curious how much, if at all, upgrading to an adjustable track bar would affect the ride quality and/or handling? I don't believe I have castor shims either. I would consider adding these if they'll make a significant improvement in ride quality.
Thanks for any thoughts.
