1st what exactly is a death wooble bcuz if its what i think it is im pretty sure that might be one of my issues
2nd mainly when its rainy or humid my truck throws a random misfire code on cylinder 3 (i believe its 3 cant remember for sure tho) and then says bank 1 is running 2 lean... what can cause this because im at a total loss i have tried everything i can think to do
changed plugs
changed coil packs
checked for loose connections
and nothing i have done has fixed it.....
I'm not sur on the V-10 but the 5.4's will throw bank lean all the time with a dirty MAF! It sits right up by the air filte and seems to get loaded up pretty good!
Death wobble is most common on coil sprung trucks BUT! Can and does happen to leaf spring front ends as well!

how can u fix a death wobble and y is it called a death wobble
Have the steering wheel dipped out of your hands at 55mph with a 18k lb 39' fifth wheel behind you as it shakes the truck ^so bad you can hardly see the wheel to re-grab it....and you'll know why it's called "death wobble"! One of the most effective bandaids for it is a steering stabilizer, but usually the panhard rod bushings are worn, along with insufficient caster, and bad ball joints & tie rod ends are the combination of worn parts that make it very susceptible to death wobble!

Wondering if you used genuine Motorcraft replacement spark plugs when you replaced the plugs? I have read of cases before on this forum where off brand plugs sometimes caused misfire problems. Seems these motors can sometimes be touchy that way.

to b honest i dont remember i think i bought the expensive ones but i dont exactly remember
I'm doing plugs for the first time in both my '98 & '99 5.4 expeditions this weekend, they have never been changed 191k on the '99 & 149k on the '98 what brand is best! Any recommendations, gaps have been ok at factory spec? Or has anyone tried a different setting with success for very high mileage motors? I'm a little nervous of stripping them out! That's why I haven't changed them, but I'm seeing a downward trend in mileage and performance, ^so I'm sure it's time!
