I have a 92 f150 with a 4.9. It runs extremely rich. It's been modified with airbags so I was told a mazda fuel tank was put in and they did away with the front tank. I am going to check the fuel pressure if I can find the right fitting for my gauge. The cat is gone, the fuel regulator isn't spraying fuel out of the vacuum nozzle but the house has a hint of gas smell. It idles too high and when I unplug the iac it idles down and runs. That leads me to believe the is a vacuum leak but I can't hear it. I sprayed everything with ether and the motor stumbles around the throttle body to intake gasket area. It has a new tps but at idle it's at .009 & wot it doesn't even go to a volt. It has a little over 5 volts going into it though. It's so rich that I have to ease the throttle or it bogs and it is smoking black. What should I do? I'm wondering if it has something to with the mazda tank or the front tank delete.
Pull codes. I don't even want to speculate about that rig. That tps reading isn't near right, are you using the right testing procedure? This one is the one you should use Ford Fuel Injection » Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) . Who did all the conversion work, and how long have you had it? Throttle body to intake gasket, so the whole top manifold and engine side. What did you spray with? It sounds like you may have a few problems here.

I just looked at the tank and it's the stock ford tank. I used starting fluid to look for leaks andit stumbled slightly when I sprayed the throttle body. I dont know who did the work but lots of it is rigged I'm finding. I got it on saturday.
Well, its a vac leak or maladjusted throttle stop screw. Stop screw came painted from the factory, should be easy to tell. If it doubt, pull the intake hoses, the plates should be essentially closed.
If it's a vac leak, finding it is going to be the fun. Do your self a favor and buy a vac pump. It's worth the $35. Start testing at the tree, and check PCV and Booster hoses. And to properly test the IAC, put it back on and pull the connector. The holes may have not been plugged enough.

Codes are 118 637 126 121 113 334 654 622 629 117 123 337 543 634. Some of those may be old. I'm going to replace the ect, egr, tps and a couple vacuum lines and hopefully that will take care of it for the most part. I will replace the o2 sensor soon
Were these all KOEO or are some of them KOER? Did you run the KOER/run it properly?
And for anyone else who's looking:
113 ACT>4.6v
117 ECT signal too low
118 ECT>4.6v
121 Closed TPS out of range
123 TPS> max 4.5v
126 MAP/BP out of test range <-------- You neglected to mention you were running a MAF conversion (are you?)
622 Shift Solenoid 2 Fail
629 Converter clutch circuit failure
634 MLPS failed self test
637 TOT over max
654 MLPS not in park
337 EVP above Max limit
543 No voltage to Fuel Pump
My advice, start with the TPS(very important) and ECT(cheep). And if you're not running MAF, you have the wrong computer in there. (assuming all those codes are good). <-----This is wrong
Did you use a reader? if no, do it again with one, just to be sure. They're ~$30 if you don't want to Beg/Borrow/Steal.

Reason: future clarity
126 is a MAF only code. For the Computer to have it, it must not me Speed Density (must be MAF). <-----This is wrong too
Your engine has no MAF sensors, it has SD sensors and injector sequencing, etc.
That computer is going crazy trying to figure out that TPS sensor signal and the SD sensor signals. Next you're going to tell me it has a C6 or manual trans too...
And did you run KOEO and KOER?

Reason: same as above
Look for your trans and SD. Not MAF. It will be listed under F-X50. When you find it and post it up here (what you have now). And what trans do you have?

I'm not sure, it has the button on the shifter and it lights up off when I push it but nothing happens. I think it's an e4od since there is no tv cable.
Just wondering because of the trans codes. And what lights up? ( I assume its the OD light)
Your trans is not shifting properly, as indicated by the codes. Looks like you need a new Manual Lever Position Sensor in the column. Hopefully changing that and getting the TPS functioning will fix your 622. That'll get you started.

(Of course, it could be any of the wiring, too)
