I went to do a little research on which pieces I'd need for an *automatic* LLS and ended up confused. I'm going to need bags and compressor but I see here that most folks stop there. What can I do to acheive an automatic ride height like I had on my dearly departed Navigator?
Is there a recipie for which high quality, durable, parts I need to kit up?
Can't help you out on this one Herman. I've never done airbags but several of the guys in the 6.7 forum have and have posted about it there. I'll be glad to move this thread down there if you'd like or you might try posting the same question there....just let me know.
Basically all you need is to add a automatic leveling valve to the compressor system, but ultimately it will come down to what exactly are you looking to achieve and how much are you willing to spend to get it.
If your looking for a kit, check out the Hellwig 4880 compressor system to get a idea.
If your looking for something higher end, Kelderman offers some real nice options that range from mid-line to the full monty (i.e. 4-link w/ bags just like the big rigs).

Have any of you heard of someone using a compressor like this for air horns and to air up tires?
I do a lot of surf fishing and beach driving and I lower the air pressure to drive on the beach and I've been using a cheapo electric inflator to air up when I get off the beach, but it takes forvever. I want to install some real air horns and thought I could kill two birds with one stone.
