F350 won't start

I changed the battery last week and also the serpentine belt and now the truck won't start. When I turn the key the radio comes on, lights work, dash lights up but all I get is a clicking sound.

Any ideas?

Double check your battery connections and check the other ends of the cables too (ground and starter) for a loose or corroded connection. Also check for blown fuses.

If the batteries check out try starting it in neutral, sometimes the linkage can get bound up a little, or if you have a sloppy shifter you might need to make some adjustments.

It is a 5.4 gas, I will check my connections out.

What fuses should I check?

Could it be the starter?

Thumbs up

NICE, glad you found the problem. Things to think about.

14.13. Can a bad battery harm the charging system or starter?

A bad or weak starting battery causes additional stress on a charging system, starter motor or starter solenoid. It can cause premature failures due to compensating for the voltage or current. If you replace a battery, alternator, voltage regulator or starter, you should test the other components for damage and repair or replace them as required.
