new pickup acting weird
hello all, i just came into ownership of a 1987 f-150 with a 302 automatic and when we finally got it started at the last owners house it ran good for a couple miles driving through town until it started running really weak and wouldn't rev so i pulled into a parking lot and let it idle for a few minutes and then went on my way until about a mile out of town when it died completely. the next day i got it to start and run iffy around the house and after putting on a new fuel filter it would be really hard to start and wouldn't run well at all. i noticed that the sensor mounted on the intake of the throttle body had some wires really poorly spliced to i soldered them and now it won't run at all it has good fuel pressure when the pump is in continual run mode but as soon as i turn the key to the on position i lose it all also the high pressure fuel pump sounds like it's bogging down any help would be appreciated as i really need to get this pickup running so i can fix my 71
