I'm glad I could lend some help, get that TPS changed, $25 or so and just requires removing the throttle body, the TPS is on the underside, and once you get the new one in place you likely need to check the voltage at closed/partial/full throttle position, I believe it should range from 1V-5Vs I believe. Check the specific voltages for sure online. Good Luck.
LOL poor guy was getting lets play guess a part left and right. Gotta love an E40D for telling you a sensor is gone before the CEL. Always pull the codes when the trans goes into that shift pattern. It can be one of any of the sensors these guys suggested. Some times it can be water that got into a connector to any of these also. At least the trans protects itself from slipping !
hello, i just built my trans. and now i have a hard shift when put on reverse? any ideas? no codes and drives great no hard shift at all just when put in reverse ?
I have a hardshift problem with my E40D, 1992 with 50k miles. Just did a flush and BG added. The fluid was a mahogany color. Took it to Mr transmission, and said it had a ton of codes in it, so the last code was the MAFM Sensor. I replaced that and the sensor in the middle of the 7.5l engine. It seemed to work, but when it gets hot it still shifts hard. When it is cold, it is fine. They cleaned out the valve bodies, and I replaced the solenoid pack. Still clunks. It seems when the RPMS are higher, it clunks less. Any idea on what causes this?
1999 f250 superduty 7.3 Shifting hard from 2-3 replaced the VSS did seem to help a little but still shifting hard. Especially if I'm in the throttle! What next?
I'd probably start by making a new thread in the correct (SuperDuty) section. This is a thread about a different transmission in a different truck with a different engine.
