Why do my wheels do this?

Can anyone tell me why my wheels angle like in the pics when i reverse? It is when I back into a spot or while I am just backing up in general. As soon as I pull forward they go right back like they should. The ball joints and tie rods are brand new. The wheel bearings are less than a couple years old. And I don't know enough about a D50 to figure it out I guess.

Bad Shocks, improper alignment, worn beam bushings.

Brand new shocks as well. Everything else that would be effected by a bad alignment is fine.

Why does it do that? Is it just a D50 thing or does a D60 do the same and is it bad to let it sit that way for an amount of time? Thanks Rick

A D60 is a straight axle. If a 60 does that, there is some serious issues! The ttb 44's and 50's all do it after they "wear" a little. Check the center bushing's for slop, and get it aligned if ya haven't already. It is a common thing though.

Thanks guys. So is it ok to leave it parked that way or does it cause further stress and wear?

my neighbors truck has 196k miles on it and i just replaced the ball joints 2 weeks ago.
he has parked it like that every night for the past 19 years, so i will have to say it will not do any damage

I have always figured the alignments call for negative toe . I had a taurus & a ranger that did the same thing with nothing wrong with any of the front end parts ...

As far as I know, Every TTB does that. Mine does it. It doesn't do it that bad, but it does it. Entirely normal.

I've owned mine for 11 years and never noticed that. As much as I look at my truck you'd sure think I would have. I back up and park a lot of times, loaded, unloaded, never saw that.

My current truck sits just the opposite which suprised me but when you back in that's how it sets. My 94 set just like that though.

My truck does that also, just not that bad. It did it really bad when the beam pivot bushings and radius arm bushings were bad. It now has new ball joints, tie rods, polyurethane pivot and radius arm bushings, wheel bearings, new tires, and fresh alignment. Doesn't do it as bad, but still does it a little.. It's just a TTB thing..

My truck had 138,000 when i yanked my D50 out last week....The center bushing and the leaf spring bushing were SHOT! Everything thing that rode on rubber for cushion, was metal on metal..
