Pumps like that work best as close as you can get to the fuel.
I've heard that they don't last long though. Could be because of WMO though.
The AirTex solenoid type i had only lasted a month pumping diesel, so save your receipts.
My recommendation: PM genlightening about a Facet Dura-Lift pump. They run 24/7 on refrigerated trailers and are designed to lift fuel 10 feet. You can mount these in the engine bay. Cost should be about $80 shipped.

x2 on the duralift. thats what ill use if i ever get around to doing it
I mounted a Holley "RED" on the frame rail just ahead of the tank selector valve about a year ago. No problems so far. I run a mixture of WMO & diesel in one tank and straight diesel in the other. With that said, the grass isn't necessarily greener on the electric pump side of the fence. I haven't had any problems however I will complain that it's much louder, and I've also come to realize that if I have a charging problem the truck will only run as long as the batteries last. With the old mechanical one, it will run till the fuel runs out! My advice, if your fuel system is in good condition, stick with the original equipment.
