I've tried to use the Headlight restorer with little luck. So I'm looking into just replacing them with a factory look. I've seen some on ebay and then seen some from from a few restoration websites.
I really don't want to fork out a ton of money on these but dont want a crap piece either.
How much did you spend on the headlight restoration system? I just bought a $40 kit from O'reilly's when I bought my truck. Mine were oxidized and completely yellow and the kit brought them back very nicely and noticeably improved their output at night.

It was made by Turtle wax I think it had 3 sanding pads and 2 polishes. So it was a decent kit i'm sure.

These are the lenses with their backing only, they are not complete headlamp assy's.
Tube toothpaste removes scratches from plastic, oxidation from headlamps and is cheaper than buying one a those headlamp restoration kits.
I tried Meguiars PlastX on some taillamp lenses, it's not worth a damn. Toothpaste does a much better job, just add a bit of water to it.
Note: Ford used halogen headlamps bulbs, be careful not to touch them with bare hands...or the first time you turn on the headlamps, the bulbs will burn out.
Moisture, even a little bit from fingers/hands, is the mortal enemy of Halogen bulbs.
If you would have scrolled down and read the text instead of just closing the window after you saw the lenses, it read this.

Nothing Meguairs makes is any good. Mother's is a much better product in every regard no matter what product you're talking about. However, my great working headlight kit doesn't do anything to taillights either, awesome on headlights, worthless on taillights.
OP - I've tried several $20 kits in the past, the $40 kit is worth more than double.
All kinds of people will tell you to use toothpaste or metal polish but the fact is that anything gentle enough to be a one step/stage product isn't going to be aggressive enough to cut through the oxidation. And anything aggressive enough will leave the lens scratched and not clear.
I used a headlight restoration polish before. It worked on the outside of the headlamp just fine. Unfortunately, the inside of my headlamp was faded and dull too. So it didn't work out too good. I bought some clear ones like was posted above. I haven't installed them yet, but the quality of them seems to be least the same as my OEM parts.

How did the inside of your sealed headlight housings get dull?
I strongly recommend factory Ford lights. I just got some new ones for mine. The reproduction ones are just varying levels of China junk. I have had them before and will do whatever I can to never deal with them again. Also the beam pattern is usually not up to par.
Should have mentioned this before. TYC are the best reproduction lights I have seen. They lasted about 4 years. Depo are terrible. The others I have seen don't quite fit right either.
