speedometer gear question
my dad has an '81 f-100 w/ a 4spd od and 3.50 gears. he needs a speedometer gear for the transmission. can anyone tell me what color/ number of teeth speedometer gear he needs? if it helps any he has 31x10.50 15s on it. thank you

From my Bronco Graveyard catalog (which was from a article in Bronco Driver by Chris Bradley): (old tire Dia.x old tooth count)/new tire Dia.= new spedo tooth count (round to nearest whole number) . If you changed the gearing, (old spedo teeth/old gear ratio)x new gear ratio= New tooth count. If you can't count the teeth on the old spedo gear, you will have to wait for someone who knows a bit more than me.
