AE logging which program to open with?

Just got AE, and I'm doing some logging to check ICP duty cycle and pressure.
What program do you guys use to save the info on your laptop?
Mine wants to default into "Documents" and open the log in Microsoft Excel (which I have no product key for,so its pretty much useless)

There has to be a better program...
Thanks, confused Franko

You should be able to download OpenOffice and open the data files from AE. I use Excel as I have it on all of my computers. OpenOffice is a free program that is very similar to Excel.

OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

Take a look at try it.

Good to know. Just got my AE in the mail today (thanks Clay! ). I've got Open Office on my laptop, too. Should do fine for you.

As soon as I learn the relationship between IPR duty cycle & ICP pressure I'll feel a whole lot smarter...

I use the graphs on the AE an hit the print key when the information I'm looking for is in the window. It will then ask if you want to print or save. I save in jpeg format.

Don't see why not. You can make a graph with any data. You just need to use the graph function in the program and select the data.

Have Woodnthings post a link to his website. It'll get you started. I would, but I'm out in the truck playing with my AE and replying on my phone.

Quick question. Looking at all 8 cylinders rotational velocity change.

1 - 0.1, 2 - 0.9, 3 - 0.9, 4 - 0.0
5 - 0.0, 6 - 0.0, 7 - 0.0, 8 - 5.9

2002, auto, stock. All injectors buzz good. Trying to diagnose one noisy cylinder (much louder tap, engine vibration on acceleration, hot or cold).
