I have an early build 2004 F250 with about 188k on it. In the morning I have been having an intermittent no power issue. I have tested the ficm and get 48v koeo and while ranking it. It idle fine once started but when I put it in drive and give it gas it just idles down the road. Put it in neutral and give it gas the rpms are slow to climb and turbo is slow to spool. Other days when I try to drive it will kind of buck and jerk. Also sometimes kind of shudder to life and others fires up. No long hard cranks.
Problems go away after driving couple blocks. Has done this when 100 degrees out and when in lower 40s.
I have installed a new icp sensor and still having same problems. I dont have any gauges unfortunately. Im going to check for chaffing but what else could be going on? Since it is something that comes and goes Im not sure what to check for.
If its one of the sensors can some post up how to check with voltmeter like what volts or ohms to look for.
Just an update. I have noticed since I replaced the ICP sensor the bucking and jerking have gone away when cold. I just have a rolling idle to take care of.
No matter how much pedal i give it the rpm will not go above 1000 until a block or two down the road. Basically only going as fast as letting off the brake pedal and the engine just idling.
